"A pill for an ill" The Story of Modern Medicine
Doctors used to think of health holistically until their education was hijacked by those wanting to sell drugs. 100 years later, drugs are still viewed as the only respectable and scientific option.
Today’s key takeaways:
120 years ago, most American medical doctors used integrative and nutritional healing techniques including dietary strategies, herbs, supplements, homeopathy, osteopathy, chiropractic, holistic, functional, and natural medicines.
In 1910, John D. Rockefeller wanted to sell pharmaceuticals but he needed legal drug dealers so he brought a plan before Congress to consolidate the curriculum taught in all medical schools.
This plan led to the closing of over half of all medical schools. Rockefeller donated $100 million to the remaining medical schools to ensure that only allopathic medicine (“a pill for an ill”) was taught in the US.
Rockefeller then used his power and influence to initiate a smear campaign against any other form of medicine. He even had natural practitioners jailed for practicing traditional medicine.
It will take a long time to recover the valuable knowledge we’ve lost about the miraculous intricacies of the human body. Now is an exciting time to recover lost tools and discover new ones since recent scientific advancements are constantly shedding new light on how the human body works.
Thank you to my paid supporters who make my research into the body's innate healing mechanisms possible. Below, there’s some exciting new autoimmune research, info about a doctor who’s using the ketogenic diet for Alzheimer’s, and more evidence about an alternative cancer cure.
Finally, I weigh in on a headline so ridiculous it reads like a spoof: Study says eating red meat increases diabetes risk by 50%. 🤣😭🤣 😭
A constant lament of mine is: How can it be possible that American doctors don’t know the nutritional cure for Type 2 diabetes, a disease that affects one in two Americans? In eight years of medical training, they never squeezed in the 15-minute lesson? And why do they not know the non-drug cures for heart disease, autoimmune diseases, and mental health issues?
But the story of how John D. Rockefeller transformed American medicine has brought much clarity to my ponderings. I first came across the story in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s book The Real Anthony Fauci (a book I highly recommend). And now the world makes so much sense.
Previously, I couldn’t understand why my vet asked me about my dog’s diet but my doctor never asked me about my diet. Our medical doctors receive training in pill-pushing and drug dealing, but little about nutrition, sleep, wellness, sunshine, minerals, toxins, water, salt, electrolytes, the proper kinds of fat, inflammation, stress, and how ultra-processed foods affect insulin—the basics of how to heal the human body. Now I know why.
