How Fasting Imparts Food Freedom
What if freedom is desiring the right thing, the thing that makes you feel your best, and finally having a right relationship with food.
Think of an answer in your head to this question: In the area of diet and nutrition, what does freedom look like? Did you think of an answer?
If someone had handed me a lamp with a diet genie inside when I was 45 lbs heavier and lived with constant carb and sugar cravings, I would have wished to be one of those people who could eat whatever I want and never gain weight. In other words, I wanted to eat junk but not suffer the consequences. That’s what food freedom looked like to me.
But now that I no longer crave the wrong foods, I would never make that wish. My wish is that I could keep what I’ve found, a proper relationship with food. Now food freedom means desiring the things that make me feel my best and make me feel satisfied.
Food, after all, is supposed to satisfy. But when I was a carb addict, the more I ate, the more I wanted. Now after each meal, I feel pleasantly full and satisfied.
