Rookie Fasting Mistakes to Avoid
I often hear about new fasters making similar mistakes so I’m hoping I can steer you clear of some of those to make your fasting journey more straight forward and rewarding.

Here are some common mistakes to avoid that many make when they begin fasting.
To be successful:
1. Don’t Expect Immediate Success.
Fasting is simple but not always easy, and those are two very different things.
I had several years where I dabbled in IF but my problem was that I didn’t read anything because I just thought, you just don’t eat. Why do I have to read a book about not eating? It sounded so simple.
And it is simple, but it wasn’t always easy. And it turns out there was a lot I DID need to know to make it easier. So now I’m passing it all on to you.
Here’s this special gift I have. I fall into a hole. I crawl out of the hole. Then I stand in front of it and warn others not to be so stupid.
So watch out for the instant-success pitfall.
You are training yourself in a new habit that goes contrary to everything you’ve done your entire life. You have to give it a solid month before you’ll really start noticing big changes in appetite, energy, mood, reduced cravings, etc.
This is because your gene expression will eventually change. This process is called epigenetics, and sometime soon I’m planning to devote an entire post to the epigenetic changes that fasting imparts.
But for now, just keep in mind that the adjustment period takes weeks. And we should be glad it does. If the changes that fasting imparted took mere days, they wouldn’t be grand changes. But the magnitude of the changes that fasting effects are so large, you change so dramatically, and your body will eventually function so differently, that it simply can’t be accomplished except over a long period of time.
