I just heard your podcast with Gin Stephens today and found your website. Thank you for sharing your story. I myself have started intermittent fasting and have lost about 35lbs and several inches.
Jenn! Congrats on your IF success! I love hearing the success stories because losing those 35 lbs greatly reduces your risk of so many health complications! Keep up the great work.
Hi Alma! I love that you're willing to read books and educate yourself! There's so much to unlearn from the processed food propaganda that's plagued us our whole lives. You are on the path to a healthier you since you are willing to listen to different perspectives.
Update: The audio version of Why We Get Sick is included with Audible membership, so available to *listen* in the Cloud player for free, but unfortunately, *cannot be downloaded* for free.
I started listening to the Audible version of Why We Get Sick but I decided that it works much better for me to read the real physical book, highlight it, put in sticky notes, etc. But that's just me since I want to know it well enough to quote from it. Some people absorb scientific books better through audio. I'm curious to see what you think of it so keep me posted.
I like holding and reading physical books, but I'm living nomadic lifestyle, seeing as much of America as possible, so I got the Kindle version to highlight and read along with the audio version.
I very recently began trying to absorb scientific writings, trying to understand what's been happening since late 2019.
Hey, Kindle works too. I'm reading Mark Mattson's Intermittent Fasting Revolution on Kindle for the exact reason you mentioned: it's my travel book that I always have with me. That's so great that you are challenging yourself to read scientific books. Life has become too complicated lately to simply trust "the experts." We have to educate ourselves. Knowledge is power.
I did my first fast early 1980s using Paavlo Aerola’s method water, juice & vege broth. Was blown away when HGH kicked in! Now, with internet support from people such as you, maybe I can do again. Thank You Poetry, TX
Fantastic interview with Gin and now I'm loving your newsletter and appreciate your deep research and also your fire :)! From a fellow faster (today was Day 1100 of my Never-Ending IF journey!). Thank you Leslie!!!
Wow, what an informative podcast with Gin Stephens! I think so many people have vague notions about cancer and diabetes, as if they are something you catch like a cold. Spreading the awareness that so much of those are tied to insulin is absolutely crucial. Sadly it seems like the medical establishment has taken the route of denial and roll in the pharmaceutical dough. I'm thankful people like you are getting this info out there.

This is wonderful information! Thank you for sharing!
I love reading about fasting, dieting, exercising and using any method other than pharmaceutical drugs to create and maintain healthy bodies.
I recently bought Lies My Doctor Told Me, will buy Why We Get Sick soon, and possibly some of the others that you recommended.
I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Hi Leslie, thank you for writing! Healthier with no allopathic coverup of symptoms is the goal!
