Thank you, Leslie for your post. I also started following Dr Fung earlier this year, other than him I also listen to the doctors and experts such as Dr Tim Spector, The Glucose Goddess, watched Dr Chris Van Tulleken's experience of eating UPF, read Dr David Sinclair's Lifespan book, Dr Mark Hyman, Dr Mindy Pelz, Dr Eric Berg, and so on.
Another things to consider in addition to adding in vitamins A & D is something called Low Dose Naltrexone which can regulate the immune system. Naltrexone has been on the market for decades and since its long off patent, medical schools don't teach about it. But there's a trust set up for it. If you go to the trust homepage, it has a list of conditions that LDN helps: https://ldnresearchtrust.org/conditions
Click on "endocrine diseases" and it lists Grave's disease as something LDN can help with. Most doctos don't know about it but you can get an online doctor to prescribe it here: https://ldnresearchtrust.org/LDN_Prescribers
Read through the LDN trust website. The science seems legit and since it's off-patent, there isn't any motivation for anyone to exaggerate its effects.
I haven't done much research on Grave's in particular but I've done a lot about autoimmune disease in general and I'll be working it into a post soon. Here are some previews--nutrient deficiencies can cause autoimmune disease. People can heal if they identify their deficiencies but it takes time--it's not a quick fix. One of the key nutrients needed for correct immune function is vitamin A from animal sources, not beta carotene from plant foods such as carrots which is not easily converted to vitamin A. The two best sources of active A are liver and cod liver oil. I thank you for your substack. It gives us wonderful information, logically presented and beautifully written. I look forward to it and again, thank you for writing.
Also thankful for your sponsorless Substack and happy to be a paid subscriber. Excited to check out the linked content in today’s post this weekend. Please keep doing what you’re doing, Leslie!
😁 Hi, enjoyed reading this. I hope if I keep following you I will become inspired to take more steps to assist my healing journey. I have taken a baby one, I now make sure my first meal is 14 hours since my last. A tiny change, but big for me. Happy Thanksgiving, or Merry Christmas as we say in Australia x
I'm thankful I found your substack, Leslie. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for this post Leslie! So informative!
Have you found any information on treating Graves disease?

Fasting for 14 hours a day is a great starting place! Blessings on you as you continue in the right direction.
