After learning about fasting, the next big health breakthrough came about after I learned about ancestral eating and then implemented the principles hard core. My immune system resurrected.
I’m so glad you wrote about this ! I’ve heard about Westin Price for years and have never taken the time to read him. I think I will read it since he had such a profound effect on you. Lately, theres a naturopath talking about Vitamin A overload and how that is the cause of so many ills- so no cod liver oil, egg yolks, copper, vitamin D, ETC. I just don’t believe it and after hearing your story it is one more reason I don’t believe it for most people.
My FIL has Type 2 diabetes and is in the early stages of kidney failure. I hope I can pass some of this information along to him! I was skimming through the sodium bicarbonate supplementation summary. Would the best thing be to purchase the book or is there another straightforward resource on that topic? I’m the most “sciencey” person in my family and I am definitely in over my head reading most of the resources linked here. It is humbling to realize how much I don’t know!
I think that post has everything you need to know to get him started on slowing his kidney failure. But the most important thing he can do is reverse his diabetes through doing some intermittent fasting and eating low carb. Refer to my posts on diabetes
I’m trying to warm him up to the idea of fasting but it’s slow work. He will be 80 this year and has been managing diabetes for probably close to 17 years within a conventional medicine framework.

If it were my FIL, I would probably buy the book. Did you read this post by Dr. Sircus? https://drsircus.com/sodium-bicarbonate-baking-soda/healing-the-kidneys-with-sodium-bicarbonate/#_edn1

I’ll read through it again.

Excellent post, Leslie. Can you provide details on what kind and how much iodine supplementation you do?
Hi, I take two of these adding up to 25 mg:

Thanks for telling us about this product.
I’d been taking three (3) drops Lugol’s solution iodine (which I just bumped up to six (6) drops daily, thank you David Brownstein, M.D.)
At last! Thanks to your recommendation, I can enjoy pills. They are much easier for travel not to mention dosing.
